So City of Titans looks like our best bet for reviving the spirit and magic of City of Heroes. Right now, they're hard at work making the game as awesome as it can be and so they've applied minimal resources to their public webpage design. Fair enough. I imagine they'll make it pretty later (closer to launch), but I'm impatient. I want pretty NAO!
The cool thing is that FireFox has an extension called GreaseMonkey that let's you apply personal scripts and styles to webpages you're viewing: in other words, I can override their page design with one of my own. Take a look. In each pic, you'll see what the page looks like normally and then what it looks like for me with my modifications:
I could have done more, but it's looking pretty good already and I've already spent about a week on this. If you want to "re-skin" the CoT webpage like I have, you grab my code below. Just click the "Select Code" button and copy and paste it into a new greasemonkey user script or click here to install it directly (you have to have the GreaseMonkey plugin installed and active first! You can also use TamperMonkey in Chrome.):
![]() | ![]() | It should go without saying, but to be clear, I'm not involved in any way (official or otherwise) with the City of Titans team. I did this on my own for my own reasons. If they want to use any of this, they are welcome to do so. If they use none of it, that's fine too. As they change their site, it will break my stuff and your use of this constitutes your agreement that you understand I'm not promising anything or guaranteeing anything. It's just my personal hack that I'm sharing with you, for better or worse. |
