Anti-Stab Knife

I can't think of a reason why this isn't a good idea. Who needs large kitchen knives to have pointed ends anyway. I hate carrying the things around for the risk of turning around and someone standing there. Granted I can just be very careful to point the thing down when I'm in the kitchen, but then when I drop it, the pointed end is aimed right at my foot.

Regardless of how unrealistic you think my scenarios are, an anti-stab knife would reduce the risk significantly. It's interesting at the least.

Catch The Thief Who Steals Your Laptop

I've heard stories about people who've used remote login features to take pictures of the people who stole their laptops or at least identify their location. If you're lucky, you might get back your stuff or catch the creep that does it, but you might at least have some fun messing with the guy.

Disney Animation Reuse

I noticed the reuse of characters in some of the movies like Robin Hood and the Jungle Book, but I never saw anything like this: some of the animation sequences are identical between movies!

It's something you've got to see to really understand.

WordPress Advanced Search Widget In the Works

Though I tried to fill this page with useful information to help people protect themselves against fraud, abuse, etc, the most popular pages on here have so far been the ones related to the WordPress blog software modifications I've made to allow people to search on multiple categories and such.

Well, I made an advanced version that also allows searching for tags, categories, and search terms all at the same time with controls over whether to include only some or all of the selected options. The problem is that it was big and ugly. People have been asking for a while about widgetizing the search and I hadn't planned on doing that any time soon, but things change.

Therefore, I spent the last 3 days straight doing just that and once I finish testing, you'll see a widget compatible advanced tag, term, and category search function for WordPress!

More details pending.

It’s Christmastime

I love the Christmas season (which starts AFTER Thanksgiving and NOT before) and I also love modern Christmas music (older than 30 years is a bit much for me).

One of my favorite songs is "Do they know it's Christmas" by Band Aid. It's fun to sing and it's got a great rhythm, but have you ever paid attention to the lyrics?

It reminds me of another very popular, beautiful-sounding song that most people think is a love song, but is really a "stalker's anthem".

Truly Waterproof Material Created

Swiss chemists have created a material that even when soaked underwater for 2 months, comes out completely dry.

The material is very durable, but won't survive in a washing machine. However, if you can't get it wet, perhaps it doesn't need to be washed as much
